Loyal Jane in falls rain
Hanging out to tell her tale
She fell in love with a free spirited girl
Now she’s standing in a gravey hell
Took her heart and locked it away
But not before tattooing pain on her hand
Got all smoked out on a roof
Paint filled balloons in hand (As cars rood pass)
Paint filled balloons in hand (As cars rood pass)
While listening to a man who was in jail
Shaved her head and headed to France
With a box of crayons, without the colors blue and red
Well, she left Chicago at the blink of an eye

I say Jane, Jane she’s gone
Long gone to France
Ain’t never coming back and thats a sure fact
I say Jane, Jane she’s gone
Long gone to France
Ain’t never coming back and thats a sure fact

Sitting in the bottom of a empty grave
Soaking in three day old clothes, eating modey old bread
She was as sad as a lone wolf howling at the full moon though a white picket fence
Staying out of sight to try not to frighten the dogs of the night
Staying out of sight to try not to frighten the dogs of the night
Shadows from the trees all dark and gloomy
She never thought she would wake up in an empty grave on Saturday
Sitting on the edge of a bridge with a lonely stray dog
Telling everyone who stopped
They were happy, as one could be, in a way they wouldn’t believe
Telling everyone who stopped
They were happy, as one could be, in a way they wouldn’t believe
Now the shine of the sun brighten up grounds of an old dirt road
And the water of the lake give the world a better smell
With her mind full of knowledge on how love ends and the dream that she will one day find true love.
And a free spirited girl was the cause of all her undying pain
Walking down the streets of Oak forest Park
She heard the coughing and choking of an old name Joe
Driving into Barkly on hotwings sunday
With one eye on the clark and the other on the door
With one eye on the clark and the other on the door
Ms.Daisy took her pet snake down to Jammies animal vet.
And the smuggling in of a hookah so blue it resembles the ocean.
With her fireman’s suit without the coat and her long red hair, looking fine as could be and as well as the eye could see
They all gave her a stare as if she was a millionaire,
They all gave her a stare as if she was a millionaire.

I say Jane, Jane she’s gone
Long gone to France
Ain’t never coming back and thats a sure fact
I say jane, jane she’s gone
Long gone to France
Ain’t never coming back and thats a sure fact
As she sit on the stage guitar in her hand
Singing I’ll never fall in love again with a free spirited girl,
I’ll never fall in love again with a free spirited girl.
repeat chorus
