a friend.

dark nights,

laying in bed,

wanting the world to just

stop.

cocooned in a blanket,

silent tears,

or maybe

big

loud

sobs.

but then,

a silent friend.

a book of poems.

by a girl who understands,

who is just like you,

who can put the feelings into words

even when you can't.

the words float off the page

as the tears flow more.

still, of pain and sadness.

but more of gratitude

for this girl

who said the things

you couldn't

and was a friend

when you had none.
