Friends Back Home

There we were, on the last day

I knew leaving them was my only crime

But I told them, “Until next time!”

Even so, the fact remained: I was going away

The memories rush back to me

The moments we have had together

They are etched into my mind forever

Because of them, I will always be glee

In bed I lay

Every now and then

I think about the days that will never decay

I wonder when

When I will be back to say

“I have been waiting to see your faces again”
