In front of me I

Location

In front of me I should see my future.
But no.

In front of me, I see a pencil.
The pencil is on top of a test.
The test is on a desk.
In front of me lays my future.

Seventy-five questions in forty minutes.
Capatalize that word.
Add a comma there.
Seven times the square root of cosine theta.
Read that passage faster!
Chloride plus helium equates to what element?
Define erudite.

Well, that doesn't look like my future.

I'm a smart girl,
I really am.
But my test scores don't say so.

They don't reflect my true intelligence,
yet hey have the power to determine so much.
Where I go to school.
My acceptance to nursing school.
How expensive my education will be.

That number defines me.

Basically about how I hate the ACT and standardized testing and how big of an influence it has on my education and future. Psychometric measurement of intelligence sucks.
