When one sees me they see a girl

A girl who is happy

A girl who is determined

A girl with a dream

A girl with a bright future ahead of her

They may even see success

That’s what her outer layer portrays

But little do they know this girl consistently gets on her knees and prays

About fighting off her inner demons and feelings of doubts then she screams and shouts

But always goes unheard

Takes and overcomes all the obstacles life throws at her on a continuous spiral

Because she knows it’s vital to go through life experiences so she can learn from them

Those tears that fell

She nearly burned from them

As her sight became a blur because she no longer was afraid to express herself emotionally

Socially she began to speak up

Changed her mindset, ease up

Now she’s able to live in present time without a doubt in her mind that what is bound to happen will happen

All it took was a change in perception and a little acceptance to allow her to love herself more beyond what the filter presented her to be
