A girl

Once there was a girl
A girl like any other
She was a quite girl, a shy girl

The girl had friends
She never felt she fit
She was a lonely girl, a sad girl

She had secrets she kept from everyone
Self hatred, mutilation
She was a self conscious girl, a depressed girl

Every night before she slept
she'd ask, who am I, with no reply
She was a sensitive girl, a lost girl

She had a special outlet
She vented to the page
She was an intelligent girl, a verbose girl

She worked her emotions with words
She learned to cope
She was a healing girl, a learning girl

She found herself through her creativity
Though word, through film, through stage
She is an acting girl, a directing girl, a drawing girl, a happy girl, a focused girl, a self content girl

But most of all, she is a writer
