A Girl and Her Laugh

Location

Afraid of what society expects of her

Fearful of letting them down

Always wanting to please people

But tired of being their clown

What if she's not good enough?

Maybe there's someone better?

They are already judging this girl

Even if they haven't met her

Nothing ever bothers her

She acts so calm and serene

But inside there's somthing pulling

And it can be tauntingly mean

She hates that she's insecure

Feeling that she's a disappointment

"Oh, you can never be like them"

Never feeling as important

No one knows who she really is

Why is that you might ask?

She seems too happy to be sad

It's because her laugh is her mask

She believes that when she laughs

She'll trick herself into thinking she's okay

It is working for her temporarily

But she knows it'll fail her someday

Trying to live up to expectations

Is going to end her behalf

And people will only remember her

As an average girl and her laugh
