God Damn Independent

Location

Frats; Sororities; Greek life.

Every college student knows the names.

What's so great about these groups?

Is it the typical popularity fame?

College and high school are similar,

despite what people may think.

Everyone has their cliques and groups,

but Greek life thinks they're the main.

Penn State is a massive university.

There are so many paths to take.

Right now I'm on the ski team,

but even they act fake.

Sometimes I want to cave,

and see what it's all about.

The glory and the acceptance,

of being included, not left out.

Staying in tonight,

because of nowhere to go.

Fratland has excluded us,

because our status is too low.

I wish it wasn't like this;

I just want to be adventurous.

But instead I'm left searching for fun,

because I'm "God Damn Independent."

We'll see who turns out higher,

when they have drank to oblivion.

I can still have fun and friends,

I don't need to be them.

What is all this hierarchy about?

To be honest, they're the same as me.

I guess our future is the decider,

to be or not to be.
