God Mend Thy Every Flaw

Oh beautiful in your clouded eyes

Is wantonly wasted time.

But purpled culture garish seems

In lives passed lighted lime.

America! America! The web your culture proves.

With God forgot, preferred your pot

What hope you, can you move?

Oh beautiful for broken feet

Cracked bleeding by the sun,

Crossed water, briars, streets and guns

For future of freedom.

America! America! From tribes and tepees grew?

Roots deepen, strengthen, lengthen, true

For oaks and surely you.

Oh beautiful? The red and blue

Mixed purple with frustration.

Parties parted passed a compromise

In stalwart reservations.

America! America! Quote: liberating strife.

Let nobleness trump selfishness;

With empathy find light.
