Gone and Back

What I would do to see you smile again-

repeatedly just making jokes with me..

not sure if you remember the time when

we turned rap songs into arias

you cooked me breakfast (everyday) or was

I just in a daze, thinking these were possibilities???

When we’re finally apart

i WANT you to think of me

in the things you do each day..

Don’t long for someone to eat your eggs and

watch you paint and pick up your baseball bag.

Don’t expect someone to compliment you

or sing for you or say “good morning” daily.

But

Be ready for someone who is me to

be waiting at your door when finally

we can reunite

Be ready to realize that no matter

where we both find ourselves that I will be

forever your friend, meeting you with my

memories

patience

honesty

& love
