Goodbye

When the mountains call your name.

And the streams, they go away.

But the clouds still come your way

and the earth begins to shake.

Then the lightning starts the storm,

but you still carry on,

through this raging war.

And you begin to fade,

into the darkest place,

where your mind was tamed

and your soul was wrapped in chains.

My dear, you were afraid.

And they said you were crazy

for hearing all the voices

whisper in your ear,

night after

night,

They became so clear.

And you just couldn't fight.

Soon, you were all broken.

And no one seemed to care,

so you let yourself go,

in the slowest, painful way.

But one young boy,

did catch your eye,

and you began to feel so high

as if you could fly

away with him.

He held you tight,

told you to fight,

he built you up,

and changed your life.

You two fell in love,

or,

so he said.

Before he changed his mind.

And you heart did break.

Now you think:

"Why can't I be worth it?"

and

"Why'd he have to leave?"

and

then you said

to me -

"I  need to make him see

how strong I can be."

So you cut yourself,

starved yourself,

beat yourself,

and burnt yourself.

You wish you loved yourself,

but you can't contain the hate

that runs so deep

inside your veins.

That was the end,

you couldn't handle it,

you said

no more

and you slammed your door.

You cried,

and cried,

and then you said:

                                                       "Goodbye."
