Goodbyes

Life is so unsettled
Oftimes it is this way
Goodbyes are the hardest
Of things we have to say
-
And as we get older
Our love ones gather near
Goodbyes become harder
But time together dear
-
Now the dreaded moment:
We say our last goodbyes
Hearts will ache with sorrow
And tears will fill our eyes
-
Golden, brighter moments
Will come if we can face
A new day with assurance
Of God's sustaining grace
