Grandpa

The sun shines on this day but you are on my mind,

There were so many things left to say

I regret the loss of time

I will always remember the good times

Though a tear falls from my eye

I wish things would have been different,

So we wouldnt have to cry

You were always a wise man, Grandpa

So driven and so strong

To think that you are gone

Seems so impossible, seems so wrong

We'll walk into that room

To see your empty chair

Although I know you're resting,

I'll feel your presence there

All the things I wish I would have said

Come rushing to my mind

I love you, I miss you

I just ran out of time

Our hearts will ache with sadness

And tears will surely fall

The night that we lost you,

We felt we lost it all

We hold you close within our hearts

And there you will remain

To be with us throughout our lives

Until we meet again
