The Great Downfall

With saddest regards
I sell allegiance to the flag
Because for the first time in my life I worry about my peers tint
Of the Disunited States of America
Where acceptance for LGBT was gained but ripped away
A place where I fear to explore my own
And to the Republic for which it crumbles
I'm imprisoned in inevitable education debt
Two nations, under misogyny, divided
For a system that demands it
With constraint and corruption for all

This poem is about:
My country
