The Great Race

Location

America the greatest

Where everyone is racing to the top

But how unfair that some had a head start to the Race

For example,

Africans did not gain their freedom until 1865 (The Civil War)

Mexicans forced to change identities in 1848 (Treaty of Hildago-Guadalupe)

Asians discriminated publicly until the 1940s (the Great White Walls)

Indians tricked into--esentially--slavery throughout the 1900s (Indentured Servants)

Although this is history,

Does it not define a head start for some in the race, while others are held behind?

We all come from different cultures

What we are taught and learned

Reflects us

And one day

We will all start equally

In the Race
