The Great Supermarket in the Sky

Where did all this Happiness come from?
This Another-Day Smile
left-right-left-right
forward-moving Attitude?

Was there a life before mine,
a waiting room of sorts,
where a Pre-person picked
whether or not they like sports
"Lane 4 for a spine."
"Spine Lane 4"

When it comes to Emotions
and things of the Heart,
red racks of Romance are first torn apart
Soon after, the notions of Fortune and Fame:
Door Prizes to the first 3 trillion who came.

In the aftermath, a romance trampled
dusted off was good enough.
Some hobbies and a love of reading,
Music and the joy of eating,
Fortunes gone, a bit defeating.

I. Was. Me.

I guess if I want more Happiness,
or the ones I grabbed wont stay,
I'll tell myself: "Remember this?
Just pick some up along the way"
