Greatness

Location

Two years----last time I saw you
Thinking and thinking what my life would be if our paths never crossed
You seeing something I could not see in myself
Seeing a shy, insecure girl in your science class
Seeing a girl trying to stay in the background.
You saw something in me---- a light waiting to shine
Saying to me, “Ruby, you are destined for greatness”
Why oh why would a teacher say this to a student?
You pushed and pushed me--- seeing my potential
I was pushed in the classroom... I was pushed on the track field
Tired and frustrated, was I
Push after push you went
Finally, I see what you saw… I, Ruby Nwaebube am destined for greatness!
