Hit the alarm

Brush my teeth

Take a shower

The usual routine

 

But as I'm doing these very usual tasks

I'm thinking of a way

To make someone else's day

Less usual

 

Because receiving a compliment

Or a random act of kindness

Is not usual

And I want to change that

 

I want to throw around kindness

Like it's glitter

As a reminder to shine

And lend the world my light

 

Each morning brings new opportunities

To change the world

And I intend to do that

One smile at a time

 

Because what makes

My heart happy

Is making the people around me

Feel good
