Grieving

Is it still my face you see at night?

Is it still my voice you’re thinking of?

Have you tried to stop with all your might?

Do you agree, distance doesn’t feel right?

Sometimes you don’t feel so far away.

Sometimes I think I feel you near.

In my head you’re here to stay,

But in reality you’re not here.

Away from me, you flew.

You always came back though.

Closer to me, I drew you,

Never willing to let go.

In the end, I knew

It was only a matter of time

Before I would lose you

‘Cause you were never truly mine.
