Growing up

Made me mature fast

It opened my eyes to new experiences and life lessons

and brought me many blessings

Growing up taught me how to become

a strong independent young lady

It required me to find and learn the real me

and love me for me

My mom always told me to always be a lady

Keep your head up high

and never let your crown fall

Always strive for what You want in life

and never give up your dreams for someone else’s

Growing up taught me to go and get mine

Nothing was ever given to me

I had to work hard for what I wanted

When it became time for me to get my license

I had to work to get the money for it

while all my friends parents gave it to them

Although I didn’t get it the first time

I didn’t give up

I was determined to get it, and I did

I learned to never depend on anyone

Growing up

opened my eyes to new experiences and life lessons

Taught me to always keep my eyes on the prize

and never settle for less

You have to live for you and what you aspire

And enjoy life, while your still alive.
