Growing Leads to Glowing

Location

I started in a nest,

My messy hair stayed a mess.

My Mom always knew

I could not follow rules.

I tried to touch the sky

Long before I could fly.

I cherished giggles and fun

Forever dancing in the sun.

I began to grow,

Oh my was it a show.

Over time my sails became tattered,

But sailing on was always what mattered.

The day I fell to my knees,

I knew I was in difficult seas.

Those days as a kid

Had undoubtedly come to an end.

I watched as my world crumbled down,

As my mind was wrecked with emotional sound.

Sadness knew his hands were around my throat,

But my heart would not let me choke.

Depression was the cold hand,

That made me realize I must rise again.

To face the life in front of me

Springing from the ground like a tree.

When the going gets tough,

Remember my darling, that Jesus is enough.

Growing up can be a pain,

But it teaches us to stand back up sustained.

Glowing up can be a struggle,

Only if your mind is stuck in a puddle.

Life is a beautiful, wonderful, confusing masterpiece...

I just had to learn to sail through the storm at ease.
