Growth

Armies of drips falling from my cheeks.
Too old to live, too young to die.
I loved you, my heat still sings.
Good god the pain does kill.
For now, I stare blankly at blades,
At poison and toxins,
So full of shame.
I climb into my hole stay a while.
Now my thoughts blanket my body.
Pain surging through me
With faithful progress alive.
I get up, stumble once.
And I have learned.
Grown.
Away from you, yes.
Sweet body reclaiming its fears.
Breaking them like a board in two.
No more of that, no more.
I walk away from the nothing.
I reach out towards the new.
