Growth By Five

A Child.

Nothing more and nothing less,

They always said simplicity is best.

Raving dreams and great adventures,

That now lay lost within the pictures.

A cold wind beckons it home.

The Doubt.

It bursted out from far within the dark,

Hunger unending, like a shark.

Making its screeches,

And  terrible speeches

Of how I used to not be what I was used to being.

Meeting Point.

Here we are, with mind divided,

Right in shadow, Left misguided

The heart lays silent, patient, waiting

For someone else to do the saving.

Our innocence is lost to us, but we continue.

Current.

I’ve grown to understanding,

That “we” I am disbanding.

I am me, and that is fact, not fiction.

A want to live is my addiction.

The trials on these trails has only just begun.

Future Times

Many times I tried, and failed;

And yet only now do I understand.

My candlelight is only snuffed by fate

Whose current winds only make it hotter.

My road leads on, and I will follow, to my demise.
