The Guidance Counselor

Mon, 12/09/2013 - 17:14 -- Rin

You've snitched? You've told?

You've cut? You're dying?

Welcome to betrayal.

Welcome to The Guidance Counselor.

Here are your pills.

Here is a seat.

Please share your thoughts, your woes,

Why you are incomplete.

You thought you were safe from here?

That those loving "friends" would help?

You thought the teachers would ignore the "signs"?

Welcome to The Guidance Counselor,

I am your only friend.

You're completely safe.

Tell me your pains; I won't share.

Your parents won't find out,

They've already been told.

So I tell the truth,

I spill my guts onto the ground.

My liver, my lungs, my larger and smaller intestines,

My kidneys, my heart, every last organ has fallen out,

There they lie for all to see, all to probe.

All because I saw The Guidance Counselor,

All because of a rumor, a cut, a bully, a fight.

And here sits The Guidance Counselor,

Phone in hand, ambulance on the way,

Coming to take me away,

To lock me up and "throw away the key,"

To force pills down my throat until I'm all better.

My thoughts will become my best friend.

I'll walk a lonely path as the loser of this game,

No trust left in me, fear of mockery from my peers haunting me,

All because I trusted The Guidance Counselor.
