Happy Place

Prompt: How can one describe what sensation one feels upon arriving at a place

The day begins gray and wet

the sun is dawning

the dew disappears on the brim of hope and breezes.

Surrounded by green pointed firs

That dare you to forsake your kurrs

Feel the breeze as it rounds the bend

And then returns like a long lost friend

It whispers my name and your name too

It is calling us out of the darker hues

“Look up at the canvas blue,” she says,

“Into the light of sunny days

fresh breezes and winter haze”

Caress the wind and kiss the rain

Sway with the dancing waves

All these cause a pausing gaze

Welcome to nature's stage

The warmth of the sun kisses my face

A new day just begun, here at my happy place

Notes: The reader is the audience watching nature’s play. It’s a call to go outdoors and imagine and enjoy living. Especially with all this technology to distract and keep one indoors.
