The Harder It Falls

Location

Growing older, growing taller,
Watching all the people prosper.
At that point I saw that city
Flourish under browning branches.

Years ago men passed that place where
Roots of mine had laced the ground. I
Cared a little hearing heartless
Voices saying, “falling earthbound.”

Learning later fate had chosen.
Time was up, I’ve fallen frozen.
