He is Still God

by Ariel Douglas (14 October 2014)

The world is crumbling before our eyes,

War and conflict echoing on the skies.

But He is still God.

The world abhors His presence and will,

Ignoring His love each other to kill.

And He is still God.

The world rebels His every word,

Doing the opposite of what they’ve heard.

Yet He is still God.

They claw and kick and beat us down low,

They mock and scorn and calls us all their foes.

Though He is still God.

They seek and destroy all that He loves,

Even themselves, their pain felt up above.

Always, He is still God.

Laugh at the term “betrayed by a kiss”,

They curse His Name and deny that He is.

Again, He is still God.

They spit and hiss and reject His love,

Swearing that He could never be enough.

Heartbroken, He is still God.

He was and is and always will be,

At the end of the age all sin must flee.

He is still our God.
