Head over Heels

Sun kissing my neck, memories licking at my toes

Kinetic energy running through my body

Itching to release the power of the prose

Take a deep breath, let the feelings I feel bleed on to the page

Let out the tears of sorrow, the trembling excitement

Let out the sting of envy, the burning of rage

Push the pen forward until it's enough

Unloading the lead-like mind

Filled with sandpaper thoughts that rub rough

Hours past, maybe my lifetime

Feel the pooling ecstacy as I almost reach the top

Push off at the Earth's internal sign

Feel time rewind

Then feel my mind crash forward

Hitting rock-bottom hard

Head fighting soul, heart wrapped in cord

Language and anguish orbiting like planets

Until the black hole that is ink makes them vanish

And seem outlandish

I break through the water, heart feeling wrung

And I smile

Because I am in love.
