Hear Me Write

Sat, 07/16/2016 - 23:27 -- Koe

Why isn't anyone listening?

I'm screaming, I'm crying out.

Listen to me, please...

Does it matter what I say?

No, I guess not.

I'm just a kid to you.

Don't you remember when you were young?

Feeling the same way as I do now.

Wishing to be heard.

Do you care what I'm experiencing?

You say my feelings aren't valid.

To you they're kid problems.

But they're not, you see?

I am human, my voice matters.

My words mean just as much as yours.

My value as a human isn't dependent on my age.

I matter the same as you.

I write to be heard, because one day

One day... my words will matter to you

The way they should have mattered

When I wrote them today.

I could be over reacting, but perhaps not. I'm in this void all the same. You may never read this, maybe you will, but I heard you...Not your voice in the way you think, but I heard it in my head, I heard the screams.

Your comment means a lot to me. I didn't think many people would read this poem, let alone comment. So, thank you!
