Heart of Contradiction

Location

I wish that I could sleep, I wish I couldn’t see,

All the things that we could be.

I wish that I could breathe, I wish that it was we,

But it’s you plus her, not me.

I wish that I could stop, I wish that I could see,

There’s other fish in the sea.

I wish you weren’t gone, I wish this thought so much,

It’s hopeless, I’m not enough.

I wish that we could talk, I wish you were my friend,

If you were, this wouldn’t end.

I wish you thought of me, I wish that you could see,

But you just don’t look at me.

I wish I couldn’t feel, I wish we wouldn’t part,

Because you have a true heart.

I wish I could move on, yet wish I was the one,

But it’s time to say we’re done.
