Help, Notice, See

HELP she writes

NOTICE me she writes

SEE me she writes

Over and over on her body

HELP me change

NOTICE I’m not okay

SEE what’s going on

But people stare blankly

She covers the scars so no one will see

She wipes her tears and smiles

She surrounds herself with friends

She seems happy

HELP she writes

NOTICE me she writes

SEE me she writes

Every night hoping that one day someone will

HELP her change

NOTICE she’s not okay

SEE what’s really going on

She knows it’s too late for help

She knows she’s is at the point of no return

She knows she’s only prolonging the inevitable

It’s not a matter of if she’ll leave us

It’s a matter of when

She only wants someone to

HELP her change

NOTICE she’s not okay

SEE what’s going on

No one does so for the final time I carve

HELP

NOTICE

SEE

HELP

NOTICE

SEE

HELP

NOTICE

SEE

into my skin

until it covers my body

and I watch the flower bloom

A crimson one

Rooted in my veins

Stem pulsing with life

Only to bloom with the energy of my last breath

Leaving a breathtaking sight for everyone to find

All because nobody

HELPed me

NOTICEd I wasn’t okay

SAW me for what I was

and not what I told everyone I was

How can I blame them

Everyone who knew told me I hid it so well
