Her

Location

Back when I was small a young girl touched my soul

I couldn’t have been more than maybe six years old

She opened my eyes to recognize no fear

Gave me all the tools to reach the final frontier

She kept my hand steady when I wanted to draw

The words she put together became pictures I saw

I just couldn’t resist when she whispered in my ear

She bought the world together when no one else could cohere

Although she’d been mistreated and abused all along

She wouldn’t put rest to her powerful song

She handed me the key to the confounds of my mind

Her words healed the sick and gave vision to the blind

Her love is unmatched, unconditional, unreal

Her appearance brings joy and feelings of zeal

She sought to bring out the potential in me

The girl that I speak of is named poetry
