Her Curtain Falls

Location

The curtains fall, their breaths' are hushed

She enters the stage, cheeks a'flushed

She's captured the moment, they are rapt attent

On the edge of their seats, even Lord Gent

Her gown billows, waves upon fabric

Her feet are lively, enthralled; a maverick

She follows no rhyme, no rhythm, no reason

A dance of its own, a crime, a treason

The crowd all stands, shirttals in tow

the applause overwhelming, ending the show

She takes her last bow, showered in petals and tears

She closes her eyes, whispers goodbye to her peers

She swirls off the stage, her final hurrah

Too soon forgotten, Her fatal flaw
