Her Disguise

Location

I looked into the eyes of the girl who was always smiling.

Only to see that her eyes were filled with fear, that drained every bit of hope from her body.

Every day she smiled was another way of her lying.

She would say the bruises on her body were nothing, but if they were nothing why continue hiding.

Barracading her shame and isolating the pain was her only way of surviving.

She would often contemplate ending her suffering, because noone was listening to her constant crying.

Instead of letting people know that she is being raped every night and having to come home to beatings, she lets the truth die slowly.

Instead of getting help she continues on smiling, showing her pearly whites to the world was one of her way of signing.

She was silently pleading for help but noone was listening, and noone ever thought that the girl who seemed so happy would die so early.
