Here's to the Girl Who Cries on the Floor of the Chapel

Here’s to the girl

The girl that used to smile and laugh

A light in the room and flower in the dark

Who now lays on the floor of the chapel with tears in her eyes

Here’s to the girl

Who drew flowers and birds

Free as could be

Now she draws a girl

Laying on the floor of the chapel, curled in a ball, and crying

Here’s to the girl

Who tries so hard to be ok

Who sits in the chapel so she won’t cut her arms

Who is now crying on your shoulder because you asked if she’s ok

Here’s to the girl

Who just wants to be normal

But instead

She is taken to the hospital in an ambulance

Because the evil voice tells her it’s better to die

As she laid on the floor of the chapel

Here’s to the girl

Who can barely get out of bed

Who wants you to know what she feels

Who is not making this up

Who wants to speak

But doesn’t know what to say

So she cries on the floor of the chapel

Here’s to the girl

Who doesn’t have the words to describe her pain

Words can’t describe the ache

Not even her tears can say it

Here is the girl who cries on the floor of the chapel.
