Hidden and Hiding

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain;

Pay no attention to the girl with the mask.

Give no regards to the person in the screen there;

Give no regards to the woman beneath the veil.

All that matters is the way they perceive you;

All that matters is that they don’t see in.

Just as long as they think you’re perfect;

Just as long as they never know.

Put on a façade, always be happy;

Put on a façade, always look your best.

Remove the blindfold, see the insecurities;

Remove the blindfold, notice the flaws.

Take a step back, we’re all the same;

Take a step back, we all strive to fit in.

Wondering why they don’t like your body;

Wondering why they can’t stand you.

Step out of the screen now, stop playing a role;

Step from under the veil, finally stop hiding.

Pull off the mask, let the world see your face;

Pull away the curtain, pay attention to me.

Our desires so deeply buried underneath the growth of responsibility.

The wave of shade chases us into an ever misleading ocean of security.

Take heed, for finding faith is dangerous business,

to the calculated man.

Beneath the depths of a conquered imagination,

lies the dreams of a sleeping a beast.

The metropolis safeguarded with a strength as large as our hearts once were,

now layed to waste amongst the disease stricken world of a godless concsiousness.

Open your eyes inward to see,

The path onward to victory.
