Hidden Pathway

Tue, 06/18/2019 - 10:31 -- SunVah

There are many feet on this long road,

No one's quite sure, at first, where it goes.

Some of us carry a heavy load

Others, on accident of course, step on toes.

At first, the end destination is in sight

It's far off, filled with many choices

Some of the far off destinations are bright

Others, seem dark and devoid of voices.

There are those of us who's destination comes first.

It's a terrible feeling, something that twists inside your heart.

That knowledge that they'll not be continuing with you hurts.

They had been there with you since the start.

Yet, you have to push onward, push forward.

As everyone starts to branch off to find their own ways,

You realize you don't have room to keep looking backward.

Your eyes have to keep up on the prize, with out sways.

Then, in a rush that's filled with tassels, gowns, a rush of voices, thank you notes, bore....

You realize, that destination...?

Was only a beginning of something far more.

Far more than anything you're expectations could ever have come up with in imagination.

Welcome, many voices call out at different times.

To the wonderful start of adulthood!

There wasn't a bell, not a class, not a chime

that could have told you how to end your childhood.

You take a moment to glance back at the pathway you took

a feeling of small joy sparks.

Perhaps you hadn't realized it before in the way you looked,

but you're ready for this new quest, and so, lets embark.
