High

No More fairies in my room,

No More milk and cookies on the kitchen table,

No More nick at night,

No More waking up in my bed,

No More street lights to light the high sky.

It's more like coffee all around my room.

It's more like bills on the kitchen table.

It's more like News12 at night.

It's more like waking up on the living room couch.

It's more like lighters up getting us high

Where has the time gone?

Childhood getting stolen

By adulthood

Our youth can no longer fantasize

In being youth

Where has the time gone?

Who would’ve thought?

In just a blink

We’re in college now
