Hope They Don't Flee

When we are left empty,
lying on the floor,
the only way to have hope,
is to picture a face you adore.

But, sometimes it simply is not enough,
and you just stay in oblivion,
drowning in your sorrowful mind,
your heart beating as a painful reminder.

At some point you had failed,
you never were alright,
no one noticed though,
so you kept it, holding it tight.

Yet it unraveled like a ball of yarn,
spilling tears from your eyes,
blood from your arms,
and ripping your heart apart.

That night the light had fled,
drowning the cries in darkness,
and ending your hope for a good life,
now all you can do is hold the one you love,

and hope they don't flee too.

Me
