Hopelessly Devoted

Why won't you treat me like I'm perfect?
Why won't you treat me like I'm worth it?
You ripped my heart right out of my chest
You did things to it that I never would've guessed
Couples don't treat each other this way
I just wish that you would give me the time of day
You left me hopeless, confused, and not knowing what to say
You just can't stand it when things don't go your way
It's so hard to explain why I'm so sad
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you so mad
I'm just going to stop and tell you that you're right
I honestly don't have enough energy for another fight
Things will never to back to the way that they were
Things will never be the same, of that I'm sure
I can't cry, I think I've run out of tears
It's not just you, I've been this way for years
At first it will sting, but then I won't feel a thing.
