How Are You

Sun, 12/15/2013 - 18:40 -- Puella

How am I? Oh, if only you really wanted to know. I'm in pain, and I'm dancing with joy. I'm solemnly mourning the death that clouds our world, and I couldn't love life more. Yes, I face my giants daily. But it's so grand to see them fall! And the world we live in, the earth beneath our beautifully ugly feet, is charming. Don't you see? I'm positively in love with this world, though I have no lasting connection or obligation to it. My eyes are wide and sparkling. Everything around me is beauty and light. You see, when you have no need for the world, it's suddenly a much prettier thing! I'm constantly dancing in this mix of adoration and disappointment. This world is terribly broken and it's painful to see, but at the same time it is full of so many blessings! We have voices to sing and ears to hear music. We have music! We have people to love and love to give. We can go anywhere we want. We can sail across oceans and hike up mountains and drive on dusty dirt roads! We can sit on a corner in a city with a six-string and an open case, and receive money for doing what we love from people that we don't even know! That is, you can if you're good. You can read books and learn about the splendid world around you! Every breath you take fills your lungs so that you can laugh! Don't you see how wonderful this world can be? Paint a picture. Build a boat. Go on a road trip. Do something that will spark in you a fascination with this world, because for now this is our gift to enjoy. Embrace it.
