How Are You?

Fri, 03/03/2017 - 22:53 -- BN15

“How are you?”

“I’m good”

I know they don’t want to hear what is true

but even if I wanted to say it I don’t know that I could.

So, I stick to the norm

because they don’t want the culture to be transformed

they want everyone to be uniformed

I’m not talking about the lost

because they’re whiling to adapt

no matter the cost

they just don’t want to be trapped

But yet here we are

in the same four walls

wondering why the world thinks we’re so bizarre

as we walk down the same old halls

Be careful not to remove your mask

they don’t want to see the real you

no matter what they ask

so be careful what you say and do

because if they think you’re unique

you might as well call them Benedict.

They’ll think you’re weak,

so they’ll be ok with creating conflict.
