I am not me without humor

Thu, 04/14/2016 - 20:58 -- nconner

I'm stranded on an island

A scary thought indeed

All I can say is I'm happy I have me

With me comes laughter

A result of constant humor

I pour out stories

And unasked for sarcasm

Something is said

And I'm off to the races

In just the right tone

I express myself

Discrete words to confuse, hidden puns

A relation of everything to this or that

The only language I know, and the only language I need

Sarcasm is my best friend

Without it I'm not me

It keeps me sane the way it drives others insane

Through the worst and best

It sticks close to me

My mind without humor I wish not to see

I'm stranded on an island with nothing but humor

Nothing to some, everything to me

Without it I'd be lost

But don't be fooled

I already am

I'm stranded on an island with nothing but me
