I am not a Poet.

Location

I’m no good at being a poet

and boy do I sure know it.

You can probably tell from just that line,

that poetry is not where I shine.

That line was no good, in and of itself,

might as well put me back on the shelf

But wait! That’s it! The idea almost to late.

And not a moment too soon, almost like fate.

There’s a problem I have with this world so full of hate.

People are too quick to accept defeat,

to just give up and say they’re beat.

But that’s just the problem, you didn’t give it your all

When the going got tough you let yourself fall.

Now you’ll never know what might have been, and it’s sad

because it might’ve been great, but know you’re just mad

that things got too hard, or that you just didn’t think you could,

let go of fear and be free, to do the things you really should

But if I could change anything in this whole wide Earth

it would be to give everyone a type of rebirth.

To believe that you can and that you will

cross over that mountain, that hill.

People will always doubt you, that’s true,

but if it were up to me no one would feel blue.

That’s the thing I would change, and while a little cliché,

Just be yourself. That’s all I can say.
