I am a Pentecostal Christian

Location

I am a Pentecostal Christian.
Every day, walking around the halls of my high school, I feel lost.
Familiar faces try to assign identities to me.
They tell me I’m not good enough
They tell me I don’t dress right
And they tell me I don’t act right.
But, I refuse to succumb to their pleas of alteration.
What they don’t know, is that under every layer of mascara I put on,
Lies a girl with higher morals and ethics than most.
I refuse to get drunk
I refuse to smoke
I refuse to fornicate
I refuse to cheat
I refuse to steal
And most of all, I refuse to hate.
Many would assume that a Christian lifestyle is oppressive;
But I disagree.
I will always have fun
I will always laugh
I will always love
And most of all, I will always put my God before any other.
