I CHOOSE ME

HE CHOSE HER

DIDN'T CHOOSE ME

A VERY ANGRY WOMAN

WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ME?

I LOVED HIM

THROUGH THE YEARS

HE CAUSED ME PAIN

HE CAUSED ME TEARS.

HE LEFT ME WHEN

I WAS SO YOUNG

BUT I HELD ON

I WAS STRONG.

I ALWAYS HOPED

HE'D MOVE BACK HOME

THEN HE MET HER

AND HOPE WAS GONE.

SHE IS EVIL

HE IS WHOOPED

HER OVER ME

WAS ALL IT TOOK.

I CLOSED UP

BUT NOW I'M FREE

HIS BAD CHOICES

NO LONGER AFFECT ME.

THERE IS BEAUTY

IN LETTING GO

PAIN AND ADVERSITY

HAS HELPED ME GROW.

THIS LAST YEAR

I MADE A PROMISE TO MYSELF

THAT I WILL CREATE MY FUTURE

ESCAPE THIS HELL.

I AM MY MOTHER'S CHILD

I WILL SUCCEED

A FIGHTER, A SURVIVOR

A DIFFERENT BREED.

YOU MIGHT HAVE CHOSE HER

IT IS SAD TO SEE

BUT, MY LIFE IS WHAT I MAKE IT

AND I CHOOSE ME.
