I Fell In Love

Thu, 10/17/2019 - 12:25 -- CorrynP

I fell in love with a girl on Tuesday

And then her smile on Wednesday

She hid her freckles with her hands

And I said to her “please stay”

The soapy water that surrounds us now

Her golden eyes that shine

I tell her that she’s mine

I fell in love with her lips on Saturday

and caressed her cheek at midnight

Where her freckles spotted her nose like stars

And the shadows fell from the night light

With the orange tint from golden hour

That covered us as we sway

Like a garden of marigold flowers

That slowly turns to grey

I fell in love with her bangs on Sunday

And her sweet scent on Monday

And as I close my eyes

She expected no delay

Our lips crashed like waves

And I told her forever

But just like the bones from the grave

Our love never withers
