I Forgive You

I forgive you for breaking my heart

You took a healed wound and reopened it

You poured acid onto it & let it sit

The pain is still there, but I forgive you

I forgive you for leaving me vulnerable

I was a lonely kid who needed a hug

Yet I got beatings and aches, they told me it was love

The memories are forever imprinted, but I forgive you

I forgive you for tormenting me

I still feel the rhinestone belt on my back

The stones of beauty turned me black and blue

After the 5yrs of pain you put me through, I forgive you

I forgive you for siding with your son

You gave me smiles and pure love

Yet your son turned me into a thug

And when he broke me, you chose him, but I forgive you

I forgive you for harming yourself

The pills you took to numb your pain, hurt you

The blades you put to your wrists, imprint is still there

You gave up and pretended you didn't care, but I forgive you
