"I have a dream"....Job

“I have a dream….”

Job that is.

That’s quite different than the other kids.

I want to be far away,

A distance so great that it makes my mother sway.

To a place where children don’t have a thing

To a place with only one rusty swing

And no clean water

Or mothers with living daughters.

“I have a dream…….”

Job that is.

That’s quite different than the other kids.

I want to go to a place

That needs so much more than God’s Grace

 To fight  malaria

And to reduce unnecessary hysteria.

“I have a dream…..”

Job that is

That’s quite different than the other kids.

I want to provide health care

To share

All of my blessings

Since in America, we live like kings

We forget about the suffering

And the dying.

We forget what it’s like to know

We’re going to wake up and not go

Worrying about food, or HIV.

We wake up and we’re free.

“ I have a dream…”

Job that is.

That’s quite different than the other kids

But that’s because I’m different too.

I don’t want a life with expensive dresses and a fancy shoe.

After medical school,

I don’t want to go to the regular work pool.

 “I have a dream…”

Job that is

That’s quite different than the other kids.

I want to trigger a change.
