I just came to high

Location

I just came to high school,

young and confused,

I was new to high school,

needing something to do.

When I came to high school,

I joined the band,

I learned to march trumpet,

and play in the stands.

When I was a freshman,

these people scared me,

I was still learning my part,

feeling left behind.

We went to our first game,

I stood on the side,

I wasn't quite ready,

to join the pride of the lost pines.

It was at the moment,

something caught my eye,

A swarm of colors,

Taking over the field.

That something was guard,

just spinning some flags,

that was my calling,

but too late to join.

And so I waited,

too long in my book,

I learned to do guard,

Adding color to the show.

Now I'm a senior,

still doing what I love,

theirs more that just guard,

but this is in my heart.

Since I'm a senior,

the only one in my class,

I became Capitan,

and a good one at that.

I have only one problem,

keeping me from my fun,

this one little sophomore,

trying to steal the show.

I understand why she wants to,

the 8 minutes of fame,

all eyes watching her,

but it's her first game.

This is what I love,

but this one little bitch,

brings too much drama,

For me and my girls.

But I'm almost done,

And then she can have the show,

I'll spin in college,

can't wait for those!

Then I'll be a freshman,

just once again,

but now I know what I want to do,

and make these moments last.
